Saying Goodbye to Grandpa Bill

It's been quite a week around here.  We received a call on Monday night informing us that
my mother-in-law's husband passed away.  It's always such a bitter-sweet thing.
He'd been struggling so much, especially the last two weeks of his life,
so we're grateful he's free from the pain he had to endure.

My mother-in-law asked me a couple of times if I'd want to do flowers.
I've always had a desire to learn how to do a casket spray and easel spray,
but figured I would get my mother-in-law's help if I was ever asked.
She is the person I went to when I was first learning to do flowers, but I knew she
wouldn't be able to help me this time.  I was hesitant and very nervous,
but with a little bit of help from my mother-in-law's former business partner and dear friend,
we were able to get the flowers done.  We had a little bit of drama with the roses (they literally arrived 2 hours before we were supposed to be at the funeral home.)
The only thing my mother-in-law requested for the flowers were orange roses,
so I couldn't let her down!  And what beautiful roses they were!  Stunning, in fact!

My children are going to miss their Grandpa Bill.  He was such a wonderful, fun-loving,
kind and gentle soul, and we look forward to the day we will be reunited.

Uncle Gerald's Funeral

Sadly, we received word last Saturday that my husband's uncle passed away
unexpectedly after having a heart attack.  He was a wonderful man gone way too soon!
Rest in peace Uncle Gerald until we meet again!
Our love and prayers continue to be with his family!

Sympathy Flowers for the Jensen Family

I had a gal call and order something for her sister who passed away.
She wanted something special and unique!
The pressure was on, but she called me and let me know
how beautiful she thought they were.  Whew!
I am glad she was happy with them.  I thought it turned out to
be a very pretty Spring arrangement.

Prom 2015

This year's prom was my biggest order yet.
This is a sample of what I did.
It took a little preparation, but I think I figured out a system
that will save me a lot of time!
I hope everyone had fun!  Have I said how much I love doing this?

Prices

I've had a few people inquire about prices lately, and because I cannot figure out how to
add a price range on my Facebook page, I'll post a blog in hopes that
those inquiring will see it.

For school dances, here are my prices:

Boutonnieres:  $7.50 plus tax
Wrist Corsages:  starting price is $18.00 plus tax, which usually includes
flowers with baby's breath and  ribbon.
Anything extra added (rhinestones, feathers, etc.) will be an additional cost.

For weddings, please contact me by e-mail at flowers.by.lorilee@gmail.com or
by phone at 801-774-5338.  This is my home phone, so I won't be able to receive a text.

Wedding prices vary depending on the flowers you want, the style of bouquet,
and, of course, by how big your wedding party is.
I promise to get back to you asap with an estimate.

Anniversary Flowers

Nothing says "I Love You" like two dozen red roses!
Add some white lilies for an exclamation point!
My brother, Craig, is the epitome of a thoughtful husband.
He asked me to do some flowers for his lovely wife, Lana.
They're celebrating 35 years of marriage!
Thanks for setting such a wonderful example of what marriage should be!

Uncle Leland's Funeral

It was an honor for me to do these flowers for my Uncle Leland.
He was a kind and generous man who always gave really tight hugs!
He will be missed!

Oliver's and Jordan's Wedding

A few years ago, baby's breath was considered out dated, and many
floral designers really turned away from using it.
But it has made quite a comeback over the past three or four years,
and I think it's here to stay!
I thought these flowers turned out darling.  So simple, but so pretty.
It was a pleasure to do them for my lovely neighbor.
I wish the best for her and her new husband.

Loved doing these flowers for my gorgeous neighbor and her cute, new hubby!
I wish them an eternity of happiness!
The gold and coral made a beautiful fall wedding.

Daniel's and Andrea's Bridals

I never would have thought I'd make a bouquet like this.
The mother of the bride made the paper roses.
I taped the stems, attached them to the roses, and then
arranged it into a bouquet!
So cute!  I think the bride was very happy with it!
Now my daughters all want one!
